Sutton Parish Council NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF PARISH COUNCILLOR Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that a casual vacancy has arisen on the above council caused by the resignation of Councillor Patrick Cassidy 1) An election to fill the vacancy will be held if, within 14 days (computed in accordance with the Regulations) from the date of this notice, ten electors for the Parish give notice in writing requesting that an election be held. 2) Such notice must be delivered to the Returning Officer at East Cambs District Council, The Grange, Nutholt Lane, Ely, Cambs. Road Closure Hundred Foot Bank Cambridgeshire County Council Hundred Foot Bank, Sutton and Hundred Foot Bank, Haddenham (Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2026-20827 NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council intends to make an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Hundred Foot Bank, Sutton and Hundred Foot Bank, Haddenham as lies between Hundred Foot Bank, Haddenham and Chain Causeway, Sutton or A1123 and Hundred Foot Bank, Sutton respectively. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order. The alternative route for vehicles is via A1123; A1421; A142; B1381 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway resurfacing, coring investigations and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway. It is anticipated that these works will take place between 1 August and 21 August 2026, when the restriction is expected to be in operation. The Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months from the date it comes into effect to permit the works and any associated contingencies including delays or phased delivery of the works. The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform. T12 Bus March 2026

Public Notice – T12 Service Diversion (9th–27th March 2026) Passengers are advised that due to a planned road closure on the B1050 Earith Road, the T12 bus service will be diverted for 19 days (Monday – Friday), the route resumes as normal on Saturdays. Closure Details • Dates: Monday 9 March to Friday 27 March 2026 • Times: 8:00am – 5:00pm daily • Location: B1050 Earith Road • Access: Maintained for residents who live and work within the closure area T12 Service Diversion During the closure period, the T12 will operate via Earith and Sutton to St Ives, connecting with the 5A service at St Ives Bus Station. This diversion allows the existing T12 timetable to be maintained, but the service will not serve Willingham or Longstanton during these times. Alternative Travel Options Connections between Willingham and the Busway will continue to operate every 90 minutes via the Stagecoach East 5A service. T12 tickets will be accepted on the 5A service for passengers travelling from Sutton and Earith to Willingham and Longstanton Park & Ride, maintaining onward connections to the Busway. Read More...

20mph Speed Survey - NOW CLOSED

Sutton Parish Council would like to consult residents on the introduction of a 20mph speed restriction on parts of the B1381 through the village. The current speed limit on the road through the village is 30mph. The Parish Council will review the results of this consultation to determine whether there is sufficient support to submit a 20mph speed limit proposal to Cambridgeshire County Council. Please note that this survey will run for 4 weeks from the 6/1/25 to allow the Council enough time to consider options ready for when the application window opens for the scheme should there be enough support.
